Ashiana was proud to host over 60 people at its Community Day in Kings Park on 30 October 2022 who came to hear about Ashiana’s plans and how to get involved. Our Chairperson, Dr Mary Nangrahary, introduced the Board members and wonderful volunteers who generously offered their time to make the day a success. It was clear from the day that there is significant interest and optimism about what Ashiana could achieve and that a service like this is greatly needed in the community. Many of those who attended signed up to become more involved in Ashiana’s work and events, and we know this is only the start of exciting things to come. It was also wonderful to see many well respected members of the local Afghan community present, including Federal Senator Fatima Payman, who was eager to learn about Ashiana’s work.
