Ashiana was so pleased to support local refugee artist, Halima Mozaffari, to achieve her first solo exhibition since her arrival in Perth, with the generous support of North Metropolitan TAFE, at an event hosted on 19 April 2024 at the Shopfront Gallery in Northbridge, Western Australia.
Members of the public could meet and speak with Halima to discover the inspiration behind her art, and enjoy Afghan delights prepared by our members. It was a wonderful event and we hope to continue to support Halima and other members of the local refugee community find opportunities for connection through art and pursue their dreams in Australia. We thank North Metropolitan TAFE and our members for supporting Halima Mozaffari and this event.
We hope to welcome Halima to our forthcoming workshop celebrating the achievements of refugee and humanitarian women and their journeys to Australia, which will be held on Saturday, 4 May 2024 at Cyril Jackson Senior Campus. You can read more about the event here.
Please enjoy some images of the exhibition evening below.
