A new pilot program headed by Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia commenced in mid-2022 to facilitate community-led sponsorship and integration support for newly arrived refugees in Australia.
At least five adults can combine their efforts and resources to sponsor a refugee who is recognised by the UNHCR as part of this program. If you are considering participating in this program, CRSA’s website contains guidelines and an application form.
The pilot program is projected to support the sponsorship and resettlement of up to 1500 refugees over four years and takes its inspiration from similar programs successfully operating in Canada.
